Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately at this point) Bryan isn't so lucky to have all these days off. In his words "If it's not illegal to be on the roads--I have to go in" He went to work on Tuesday, but decided to stay home on Wednesday as it was a level 3 snow emergency--stay off the roads!!
He braved the cold to get a few shots of what the apartment looked like post winter storm.
His plan was to get up on Thursday and go into work as normal. He kissed me goodbye at 8am and headed outside. About 8:30 he came back in. This is why...

Turns out that when the snow plow came through it pushed just a bit too much snow up behind and under my car. Mixed with the layers of snow/ice/snow that were kinda melted and now slushy and then refrozen, the car was stuck!
This was on the top of the car. You can see the snow on the bottom and then a layer of thick ice and then more snow on top.Bryan dug and dug and dug from around the car.

Finally, the plow truck guy came by and our kind neighbor came out and they were able to push the car while Bryan gave it a little gas. Freedom! So about 11am--3 hours after he planned to leave--Bryan was able to head into work.
Thursday afternoon we had a meeting at the bank and then met friends for dinner. It was still pretty nasty out and we saw a couple cars that ended up in the ditch, but it was nice to get out for a little while. I was pretty sure that I would have school today. When I went to bed we were on a 2 hour delay. When Bryan got up at 6:30, we were still on a 2 hour delay. When I got up at 7:00, school had been CLOSED. Ugh. We are using up all of our snow days at once. Partner that with the 3 days out for the power outage earlier in the school year and I'm bound to be at school until the middle of June!

It looks pretty cold. I think we'll get more snow tonight or tomorrow, but nothing like what you've seen.
