It started snowing about noon and held out steadily until the end of school. Not much was really sticking, so I wasn't too concerned. Soon after school, it started sticking and not looking so great. I had planned to stay to work until about 6, but Bryan said it would probably be best to head home.
When I walked out of the building, this is what I saw...
I could barely see to get out of the parking lot. I couldn't tell the difference between the parking lot, grass, or curb. I turned out onto the road, barely made it a few feet and decided I was going to have to pull over and have Bryan come rescue me. The problem was, I couldn't see well enough to actually pull over. So I just kept trucking. The ride home was a little longer than normal, so I decided to shoot a little video on the way.
It normally takes me 15 minutes to get home. It took about 2 1/2 hours to get home yesterday. I was losing my mind. Not only was it a very long time, it was very stressful because I'm not used to driving in the snow and people were acting like idiots.
And unfortunately (never thought I'd say that) school is closed AGAIN today. This is the 8th day this year we have been off. I feel like we are going to year round school before too long if we miss many more days. Also, I have my big observation tomorrow and I REALLY need to be teaching. My kids have missed a full week of instruction now!

Your commentary is so silly. I can't believe you have another day off.
To clarify, I meant "silly" in a good, funny way. Just wanted to set the record straight so your other readers don't think I'm a jerk.
I really can't imagine snow like that - or a 2.5 hour drive home. Miserable.
Glad it's you and not me...I know not too encouraging. I would probably hurt myself or someone else if I had to be locked up in my house for that many days!
