When you look at blogs as much as I do, you begin to notice that the way a person writes a blog almost always tells you more about the person than the actual blog itself. Many people can share the same experience and will tell about it in very different ways based on their own perspective.
Take my sister Amber for example...when you check her blog you can almost always expect to read a story about her precious girls and even more importantly to see pictures. It's written more as a little journal for her to remember all the cute things they do or say so that she won't forget them. She loves her little girls, she's proud of them, and she knows her audience--we want to see pictures!
Then there is Alisha--she's a storyteller--always has been. It is impossible for her to just relay facts. There has to be a back story and maybe even a little embellishing (some might say she gets this from my mom). She will go to great lengths to set up her story just right. There might even be some research done to aide in this. I'm pretty convinced that she actually LOOKS for things to blog about while other people just relay information when it happens. Many people see her sense of humor in her blogs (and some even wonder why she's been slacking recently...hint, hint)
Next we have Bryan--king of every excruciating detail. Up until today he hadn't posted to his blog in over a year--since he chronicled every detail of his trip to pick up his car. He has been in charge of the camera on our trip to Vienna and took 150+ on the first day alone. He spent the rest of the day organizing pictures, googling the places we went, and writing up a painfully detailed description of our day. Make sure you check out his blog if that's your sort of thing--or if you want to actually know what we did.
Last you have me. I'm not really sure what kind of blogger I am or what that says about me. I will just leave you with a few snippets of our trip and let you decide what impresses me most...
When we arrived, we had a belated birthday celebration for Alisha. You might remember that last year my mom brought an entire red velvet cake in her suitcase for Alisha's birthday. This year Alisha told her not to go to all that trouble--but mom just couldn't let it go, so she brought cupcakes this time instead.
Here we are with our ice cream the first day. Alisha and I decided to share the Nutella ice cream-- I mean, ice cream and Nutella--how can you go wrong?
When Alisha asked me what I wanted to do while in Vienna all I could think about was the pictures I saw last year of a meal served on a sword I knew that was something I needed to experience.
We went today for a late lunch/early dinner and it did not disappoint! The food was delicious and certainly hit the spot.
So there you have it--my trip so far in a nutshell. Does my perspective of the trip tell anything about me?
